3 of The Best Triceps Exercises

Although the bicep muscles tend to get a little bit more attention than any other arm muscle, it is the triceps that are really going to make your arms larger as a whole. That is why many individuals start working out the triceps, the moment that they understand this basic principle. There are many different ways for you to work this particular muscle in the body, but we have chosen our favorite 3 tricep exercise routines in hopes that you will be able to use them yourself in order to see additional growth.

The first exercise that we enjoy doing for the triceps is using the pulldown machine. This really helps us to isolate the triceps effectively and we are able to choose a number of different attachments in order to hit the different tricep heads. For example, some days we may be using the short bar in order to keep our hands a little bit separated, and other days we may use the rope in order to adjust the amount of separation manually. As with any type of tricep exercise, however, make sure that your form on the pulldown is as close to perfect as possible. This will allow you to get more of a pump out of the exercise and can really make a difference in how effective it is overall.

Another type of tricep exercise that we really enjoy is the skull crusher. This is done where you’re laying on your back with a weight held directly above your chest. While keeping your upper arm immobile, you will lower your forearms, and the weight down to your forehead. It is important for you to make sure that you have a spotter whenever doing this, as a single slip can be rather disastrous. The spotter can also help you to make sure that your form is as close to perfect as possible in order to get more out of the exercise. This exercise can also be done with dumbbells, and since the dumbbells will be coming down on either side of your head is not nearly as dangerous as using a barbell.

Finally, you want to make sure that you’re working out your legs as well as your tricep muscles. By doing effective leg exercises and incorporating them into your overall routine, you will help your body to grow muscle in all areas. Most people that work out regularly are surprised with exactly how much additional growth they get in their upper body by working out the legs. Give it a try for yourself, you would be surprised and rather pleased with the results you will get.
